With an undergraduate degree in both Anthropology and Italian Language & Literature from the University of Arizona (USA), Bridget moved from Seattle, Washington state to Jilin Province in August of 2001.  While teaching English at Jilin Normal University and later at Harbin Engineering University, she earned her Master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in March 2004 from Azusa Pacific University, California. 

She has had the opportunity to teach a wide-range of Chinese university students.  Though she has taught English classes to students ranging from undergraduates, post-graduates and even fellow Chinese colleagues, she has also had the opportunity to instruct various students in classes such as American and British culture, history, literature, applied linguistics, and Western teaching methodology. 

In July 2008, Bridget completed her certificate in teacher mentoring through Wheaton College (located outside of Chicago, Illinois).  This hands-on program enabled her to work with novice teachers from North America and China and included traveling to India to train English teachers there.

Her passion for teaching and education has led to opportunities for teaching as a Wheaton College instructor for a TESOL certificate course and as a teaching specialist within her English-teaching organization (English Language Institute/China).  She enjoys teaching Chinese students even as she is also beginning to homeschool her two young children.  Due to her background in cultural anthropology and language, she is very interested in the connection between culture, language and how people use language.

     1999年，Bridget毕业于美国亚利桑那大学，取得人类学学士学位，以及意大利文学学士学位。2001年八月，Bridget应美国英语协会（English Language Institute/China）要求，离开美国华盛顿州西雅图市，到中国吉林省四平市的吉林师范大学担任英语外教；2002年秋，赴哈尔滨工程大学任教。其间，继续攻读美国加利福尼亚州Azusa Pacific大学对外英语硕士课程，并于2004年三月顺利取得硕士学位。

      Bridget接触过各个层次的中国学生。她曾教授过大学本科生、硕士生以及大学英语教师的英语口语课程，并为一些英语专业课程给予指导和帮助。如：英美文化，英美历史，英美文学，应用语言学，以及西方教育教学方法论等课程。

      2008年七月，Bridget取得伊利诺伊斯州Wheaton大学颁发的高级对外英语教师培训资格证，相当于已攻读了对外英语教师教育专业的部分博士生课程（如对外英语教育课程、跨文化交流课程等），这使她能够胜任大学见习教师的指导工作。她曾指导北美和中国的大学英语教师，并曾远赴印度为英语教师进行培训。

      Bridget对教育事业抱有极大热情。她在Wheaton大学攻读对外英语教师教育课程时，曾担任对外英语教师的指导老师；在她所任职的美国英语协会中，她曾被亲切而诙谐地被评为大家的教育教学专家。即使她现在不得不分心对自己的孩子进行家庭式教育教学，她也仍在课堂以外教授中国学生并乐此不疲；因为出身于文化人类学和语言文学专业的她，一直对文化、语言以及言语应用有着浓厚的兴趣。
